Golden Grass (Capim Dourado in Portuguese) is a natural plant that grows in the heartland of Brazil, the Jalapao. The region is South America’s largest savanna and home to natural springs and sand dunes. Capim Dourado must be harvested at a certain time so it will retain its golden tone that resembles actual gold.
The women in the region weave the shimmering strands into eco-friendly jewelry, hats and handbags. These unique handmade products create jobs, provide income for the women as well as preserving local traditions
